Look, it’s Thursday!

Another Thursday. It’s hard to believe another week has flown by and I’m throwing together another blog post. I must admit, I haven’t been as inspired lately to sit down and write in the evenings. I’m not beating myself up about it, just going with the flow, and I’ll do my best to get something up for my (at least) once/week commitment 🙂

It seems with spring sprung upon us that life has been kicked into high gear. The weather has been great, and we’ve had lots of fun in the sun. Not, however, without a few glitches thrown in there to balance things out.

Last weekend, our friends in town that have a little girl (also with achondroplasia) hosted LPBC’s Annual General Meeting. It was fabulous seeing all of our LPBC friends, and even meeting some new families. It was also nice to have the event so close to home, in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.

All of the members (with dwarfism) contributed their handprints for a project that is being put together as a fundraiser for LPBC. Look forward to me blogging more about this when it’s all finished.

This wasn’t easy                                                     Cleaning up

Right around the same time as the AGM, I ended up with a nasty allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was taking (and that I had been praising just days ago). A nice hive-y rash that seems to be severely aggravated by the heat and sun (did I mention it’s been 25-30 degrees for the last week!?). What timing! (I will spare you a photo of this one 😉 ).

And then Makenna met her match. That is, with the corner of the wall. Huge crash, instant goose egg, and a progressively more colourful eye as the days go by. She is going to have a lovely accessory for her 5th birthday!

The last week was rounded out with some time on the field. Makenna enjoyed her very first t-ball session, and we’re looking forward to the next few weeks, soaking in the afternoon sunshine on the baseball field.

It’s not perfect form unless your tongue is hanging out

The perfect spectator (he doesn’t move!). Someone has finally figured out the whole sitting thing!

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.

Oh my goodness what a goose egg….hoping it doesn’t hurt too much.

She is a tough one.. and must have a high tolerance for pain. She cried just only a minute or so.. and hasn’t complained about it at all. Crazy kid!
