Three Things Thursday

1. I have a confession to make. Declan and I went for a walk today. I pulled some pants onto him, threw him into the stroller, and away we went. Sockless and shoeless (scandalous, I know). Hell, he probably would have been happy as a clam in just his onesie…but we compromised on the pants. (We’ve had beautiful weather this week, and Easter weekend is shaping up to be a nice one…can’t wait!).

2. Bowling with four year olds is kinda fun. Okay…it was awesome, and funny, and nice to do something different. And look! Kids bowl free all summer. Amazing! Totally signing Makenna up!

3. Declan had a regular check-up with his pediatrician today. She is so great. She’s always completely organized and has every single paper and faxed copy of this and that that’s she’s received since we last saw her. She goes through it all; asks lots of questions, and asks if I have questions. She is awesome. She is also the one who does all of his official measurements. So…..(drum roll!), at 15 ½ months, my ‘big’ little guy is…

Weight – 11.07kg (24lb, 6oz)

Height – 70.5cm (28.2″)

Head circumference (an important thing to track closely with achon babies) – 55.4cm (22″)

He continues to grow along his curves, with no big jumps (or falls) anywhere. This is a good thing! He is still at the top end of the achon growth charts, plotting around the 95th percentile for all 3 measurements.

We saw his physical therapist this week as well. We go about three months between appointments, so he has usually progressed quite a bit each time we see them. They were amazed…once again. He is doing great. (Perfect, in my books. But I’m his mom, so…you know 😉 ).

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.
