Oh, na, na, What’s My Name?

I’m trying to do something through my bank and the government and they’re not happy that the name on my SIN card doesn’t match the name on my driver’s license. When I got married I didn’t change every.single.thing to my married name…just a few things (including my driver’s license) and basically ‘assumed’ the new last name. I have not encountered any troubles in nearly 7 years…until now. The bank suggested I simply change the name on my SIN card to my married name. Haha. Not going to happen after we’ve been separated for a year! So tomorrow I will haul everyone (a sick little boy, with an ear infection, included) into the Access Centre to see if it’s possible to change the name on my driver’s license back to my maiden name. See…we’re not officially divorced yet…only separated. So I have no paperwork indicating we’re divorced. Hopefully it’s not too painful. I seem to be shedding a few things around here lately…including, I guess, the F word that’s been attached to me for quite some time…

I have been really bad at taking photos lately and they’ve been lacking on the blog. So what did I do? I googled ‘What’s my name?’… and of course came up with page after page of images of:

Nope…my name’s not Rihanna :p

Ohh, and amongst all the Rihanna pics, there was one of Patrick from Sponge Bob (I only know his name because Makenna has a Valentine’s Sponge Bob book that she makes me read way too often).

So there’s some random photos to go along with this blog on this fine Thursday night! I’m off to catch up on some TV shows that I never watch anymore. Happy almost weekend!

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.

So how did you go? Could you change your name? Bureaucracy is always something that triggers my interest…

It was no problem! I called them beforehand to make sure I brought the necessary documents. All they needed was my birth certificate and marriage license (to see the connection of my 2 names).. and that was it! Now if only I knew they would be taking a new photo…I would have done my hair 😉
