‘Tis The Season To Be…

Busy? Yes, jolly too, but we’ve also been busy. Trying to squeeze in some holiday fun and cheer on these last few days leading up to Christmas. A visit to the Forest Museum for a ride on Duncan’s version of the Polar Express. A visit with Santa (the old guy seems to get around. We’ve seen him at Christmas train, the swimming pool, the skating rink). Time with friends. Christmas parties and concerts. Cookie decorating. Holiday crafts. Christmas baking. Trying to get it all in and doing my best to create that magic for my two little ones. Seeing the wonder and excitement in their eyes makes it all worth it. I love this time of year. And I don’t mind that we’re not living with the Grinch anymore who was always good at bringing down the holiday cheer a notch (or ten).

Back to the cheer…

Crafting

My cute free mug with yesterday’s purchase. Containing my much needed beverage to get through above mentioned crafting session.

Last winter Makenna and I went ice skating with her Strongstart class and I remembered how much I love skating. I took her once again after that, but then the busyness of life with a newborn and 3 year old took over, and we didn’t go again. Well today was the last day of Strongstart before the Christmas break and we went skating again with her class (and Santa!). And it reminded me once again…I LOVE SKATING. I’m going to try to take her more often…maybe even try to find some second-hand skates in her size. I will see if Grandma can watch little bro and we can have some mom/daughter time while getting our skate on.

This was the extent of the little one’s skating. I asked the lady at the rental counter what the smallest size skates they had are…and she informed me it’s a size 8 (also the smallest you can buy)! Hrmm…I know it’s a few years down the road for Declan, but I’m going to have to do something about that.

And I think I am done now. No more running into this store or that store. All week I kept remembering little things that I would pop into Walmart or Superstore for…and then get distracted by something completely not on my list. But no more! I am done, done, done. This weekend shall bring lots of wrapping, and hopefully some downtime to rest, while fitting in some jolly ol cheer as this mama sees fit.

Four more sleeps!

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.
