Friday Quickie

Well I’ve been at this blog thing for a month now. And really…I have no idea what I’m doing. But it’s kind of fun and I don’t mind the whole ruminating thing it forces me to do. And I’ve been grabbing my camera more often when we go out the door. Never a bad thing. I’m not sure where it’s headed, but I’m going to keep on keeping on and see where it takes us.

Today we are rushing around, packing last minute things before we jet off (okay…hop on a boat) to the mainland. Tomorrow is December! And we have friends to see and Christmas partying to do.

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.

Hi Tammy, For what it’s worth, I am really enjoying your blog. I’m a teacher-librarian and I believe deeply in the importance of story-telling, in all its forms. I love fairy tales, mythology, memoirs, history, biography, poetry and essays (and movies!!) Writing helps us connect with others and make sense of our own journey and the world we live in. You and Marla have inspired me to start my own blog (despite the nagging questions: Why? Who cares what I think?). I have only signed up so far, but my new year’s resolution is to make it happen. I have a 17-year-old son and I wish I had recorded more from his early years, the joys and struggles and feelings surrounding parenting and life. Also, parenting can be lonely and our LP kids bring a unique experience to our lives. So, please keep blogging- I don’t think you’ll regret it! 🙂
