It’s Friday

So I listen to country music. Yep. Love it. There’s my Friday night confession. There’s a song on the radio these days called ‘It’s Friday’ (featuring Great Big Sea) and I think I heard it 2 or 3 times in the car today.

There's a place in town where we all hang out
Where the country girls go and the boys get loud
Yeah when the whistle blows we make quite the crowd
When the sun sets low on Friday

Now my Fridays are not quite what they used to be. And while it was a fun time in my life, I’m not unhappy to bid it farewell and enjoy looking back fondly on ‘the good ‘ol days’. Jeez, I sound old. Crap…I said ‘jeez’. Awesome.

The song reminds me of some old times. Cue Great Big Sea. The setting? The Blarney Stone. Lovely Dingy Irish pub in Vancouver. Lots of good times were had there with a great many friends. But for now…my Friday night consists of a very quiet house, 2 angels sound asleep in their beds, and a mama overwhelmingly clicking, typing, reading the craziness that is happening on the computer in front of my eyes. More to come on that later.

I wanted to do a quick blog tonight and follow (okay, copy) one of the recurring things that one of my most favourite and admirable bloggers does (that would be Ms Kelle Hampton of Enjoying the Small Things). It’s the Friday phone dump! I take a ridiculous number of photos on my cell phone and never do anything with them. So here they are, a few of my favourites from the past week.

About Tammy

I am a single mother to 2 wonderful children, ages 1 and 5. My youngest was surprisingly born with a rare genetic condition, achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism. This blog is a glimpse into my crazy life as I wade through figuring out dwarfism and divorce while enjoying every second of my deficient domestic bliss.
